Lo Man Yi

Lo Man Yi is an 18 year-old sailor who has sailed from the age of 10. She established a solid track record at world youth level in the Byte class before switching into the Olympic Laser Radial class. In January 2005 Man Yi sailed to a silver medal in the Laser Radial class at the Australian Youth Championships out of 15 competitors. In December that year, she won the gold medal at the South East Asian Games and backed this up with a win at the 2006 Asia Pacific Laser Championship.

Man Yi’s performance at international youth and open regattas clearly demonstrates her talent in sailing. Her strong results in light winds augur well for the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing while her dynamic helming skills and physique will allow her to helm in the 470 class for future games in 2012 and beyond.

Man Yi is committed to pursuing Olympic glory for Singapore in 2008 in the Laser Radial class and at London 2012 in either the 470 or Laser Radial class.
