Goh Kee Nguan Appointed as Chef de Mission for Team Singapore at the 2026 Asian Games
Singapore, 19 August 2026 – With one month to go to the 20th Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, the Singapore National Olympic Council (SNOC) has appointed Mr Goh Kee Nguan (66) as Chef de Mission to lead Team Singapore at the Games.
Mr Goh is a Board Member of the Singapore Olympic Foundation and brings extensive experience in sports administration, leadership and major Games. He served as Chief Executive Officer of the Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games Organising Committee, when Singapore hosted the inaugural Youth Olympic Games. He was also a member of the International Olympic Committee’s Coordination Committee for the 2014 Nanjing Youth Olympic Games.
He is currently the Executive Chairman of Solo Pte Ltd, a Singapore-based market leader in enterprise AI-enabled solutions, mobile surveillance, telematics and connected vehicle. Mr Goh also serves on the Board of Directors of Singapore Science Centre Global and GoldenHome (S) Pte Ltd, a joint venture with one of China’s leading companies specialising in custom-built cabinetry and joinery.
A military veteran, Mr Goh held a number of senior appointments in the Singapore Armed Forces, including Commanding Officer of the 3rd Battalion, Singapore Guards; Commander of the 10th Singapore Infantry Brigade; Chief Guards Officer and Commander of the 21st Division; and Commander of the Army Training and Doctrine Command.
As Chef de Mission, Mr Goh will lead Team Singapore and oversee the welfare and support of the contingent throughout the Games, working closely with athletes, officials and the support team to ensure they are well-prepared for the competition.
Mr Goh said, “It is a great honour to be appointed Chef de Mission for Team Singapore at the Asian Games. Having had the privilege of being involved in the Youth Olympic Games, I understand the tremendous dedication, preparation and hard work that go into preparing for a major Games. Our priority will be to support our athletes and officials and create the best possible environment for them to prepare, perform and thrive at the Asian Games. I look forward to being part of Team Singapore, supporting our athletes throughout their journey and witnessing them give their very best on the Asian stage. I am confident that, together, we will make this a memorable and meaningful Games for Team Singapore and for Singapore.
Supporting Mr Goh will be Mr Aleksandar Đurić (56) and Ms Fariza Zabir (37), who will serve as Assistant Chefs de Mission. Together, they will work closely with the athletes and officials to foster a positive, supportive and high-performance environment for Team Singapore.
Mr Đurić is an Olympian who represented Bosnia and Herzegovina in canoeing at the 1992 Barcelona Olympic Games before embarking on a successful professional football career in Singapore. During his 22-year playing career, he won eight league titles and three Singapore Cups, and was named Player of the Year three times and Top Scorer four times. He made his Singapore international debut at the age of 37 in 2007, earning 53 caps and scoring 24 goals. He was part of the Singapore side that won the ASEAN Championship in 2012, before retiring in 2014. Today, Mr Đurić is Principal of Sport Singapore’s ActiveSG Football Academy, where he contributes to the development of young footballers and the next generation of athletes.
Ms Fariza is a Physical Education teacher at Northbrooks Secondary School and a former national floorball player who represented Singapore as a goalkeeper at three SEA Games between 2013 and 2019, as well as five World Championships from 2009 to 2021. Beyond the classroom, she remains actively involved in sport and youth development. From 2022 to 2024, she was seconded to the High Performance Sport Institute’s CoachSG team, where she contributed her experience as both an athlete and educator to the development of coaches and the wider coaching ecosystem. She continues to support the development of young people through sport, drawing on her experiences across high performance sport, coaching and education.
Team Singapore is set to send more than 300 athletes across 27 sports to the 20th Asian Games. Further details on the contingent will be announced closer to the Games.
